Working closely with our General Manager Drainage and Water (GM), you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth delivery of operational and strategic priorities across the district. You’ll be someone who can confidently pick up a wide range of tasks, use initiative, and keep things moving in a fast-paced environment.
Key aspects of the role include managing the GM’s diary, coordinating meetings, screening and responding to communications, preparing correspondence, and providing high-quality administrative support to the wider Drainage and Water Group.
You’ll work across the entire Group, acting as a key enabler for operational teams while helping to keep business-critical activities and projects on track. In addition, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to significant strategic initiatives, including supporting the coordination and establishment of the Joint Water Organisation between Mackenzie and Timaru District Councils.

Your ability to communicate appropriately to a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including the general public is essential.
Our purpose is to provide amazing service every day. If this aligns with you, your experience, and your skills, we’d love to hear from you! Don’t let the requirements hold you back as your potential matters just as much!
