Compliance Officer - Resource Management & Bylaws

The Role

If you're familiar with resource consent monitoring, the RMA or bylaws, the Timaru District Council presents a great opportunity for you to be part of a professional team.
Whilst the focus of this role will be to monitor and ensure compliance with the District Plan in accordance with the Resource Management Act 1991, the role holder will also be involved in other compliance work such as the monitoring and enforcement of Council bylaws.

A tertiary qualification in Resource Management Planning or a related discipline, or experience in a similar role would be advantageous. A good understanding of the Resource Management Act 1991 together with a sound working knowledge of the interpretation of District Plans is useful. The ideal candidate will also have extensive knowledge of local government compliance requirements, standards, monitoring and regulations. Finally, the successful candidate will need to demonstrate a high level of written, verbal, and information processing capabilities.
