Transport Planner – Fixed-Term (8 Months, Parental Leave Cover)

The Role / Person
The Timaru District’s roading and transport infrastructure is forecasted to grow significantly over the next 10 years. We are looking for an individual to assume a critical role in leading the development of diverse plans within the Land Transport Group while cultivating strong relationships with key stakeholders.
You will oversee the ongoing improvement of our high-scoring Asset Management Plan, develop other strategic frameworks and documentation, provide expert guidance and counsel on various transport matters, facilitate the preparation of funding applications, and serve as the primary liaison for transport funding.

You will need to have a critical mind that can monitor and execute on a project plan, contract data, and manage project budget and scope. All this while crafting communication material for multiple audiences to report on and get buy-in for your projects.

This is a fixed-term, full-time role (40 hours per week) to cover parental leave, with the contract ending on 10th April 2026. The salary range for this role is $102,176 - $120,207 per annum.
