The Organisation
The Timaru District Council aims to enable democratic local decision-making and action by, and on behalf of communities, to provide the social, economic, environmental, and cultural well-being of its communities in the present and for the future. With around 400 staff, there are a diverse range of roles from front facing community to support and technical specialists.
The Position/ Person
Our highly skilled Building team is on the lookout for an administration superstar with a ‘can do’ attitude and strong team approach!
This isn’t any ordinary administration role, it has a unique focus - you will effectively and efficiently deal with the day to day processing of building consents in accordance with relevant legislation.
The way you mix quality service with professional and insightful help, teamed with exceptional attention to detail and high level computer literacy, will be what makes you a successful Administration Assistant.
You will:
- Be a team player with the ability to work independently and get things done
- Have knowledge and understanding of the building process/industry or a desire to learn
- Be process focused with heaps of initiative
We need an excellent communicator with the ability to meet statutory deadlines, organise workloads and determine priorities.
Most importantly we are after someone who is adaptable and quick off the mark, ready to learn and brings a great attitude to the team. Being a highly driven team, we want someone who will provide a range of admin support to ensure the team can focus their energy on servicing our community.
