The Organisation
Te Kaunihera ā Rohe o Te Tihi o Maru aims to enable democratic local decision-making and action by, and on behalf of communities, to promote the social, economic, environmental, and cultural well-being of its communities in the present and for the future. With around 400 employees, there are a diverse range of roles from community-facing to support and technical specialists.
The Role / Person
Reporting to the Communications and Engagement Manager the Marketing and Communications Advisor will be responsible for developing and delivering strategic marketing plans and activities that enhance and promote the Timaru District Council and its facilities’ reputation in line with the Council’s strategic direction.
As part of the role you will support Council projects and goals and foster a positive image of Council through creative communications, engagement and marketing campaigns and tactics.
You will need to be an outstanding communicator and have the natural ability to build rapport quickly to engage with our people at all levels.
You will have a tertiary qualification ideally in marketing and or communications. You will have demonstrated experience with leading and delivering significant marketing strategies. Your ‘can do’ attitude and excellent organisation skills are a must in this dynamic and ever-evolving environment. You will be highly professional, reliable and work well under pressure.

This position is a permanent full-time (40 hours per week). The salary range for this position is $80,489 to $94,693 per annum depending on skills and qualifications.
