As the newest Water Treatment Operator on the block, you will support the operation and maintenance of Council’s water treatment facilities, including water supply intakes, bulk supply pipelines and storage across the Timaru District.
We are on the lookout for a team player with a can-do attitude, paired with the drive to learn new skills and concepts. Ideally, we’re after an individual who has some experience with water treatment process or has completed/working towards a NZ Certificate in Water Treatment (Level 4).
For Trainees, we’re looking for an individual who has completed NCEA Level 2 with Mathematics, holds a current driver’s licence (restricted or full) and is interested in learning about water treatment processes. Additional on-job training is provided, along with other learning and development opportunities. You will also work towards completing the NZ Certificate in Water Treatment (Level 4) - earn while you learn!
Once you learn the ropes of the role, you will join the 24 hour immediate response service. This offers flexibility and rostered days off to ensure a fantastic work-life balance. The annual salary for this role is $59,500.00 to $70,000.00 per annum, plus on-call allowances.
