Water is a critical part of our community, our environment, and our economic success. It’s our district’s unsung hero. One essential component of our three waters strategy is the processing and treatment of wastewater.

We are on the lookout for a Wastewater Treatment Operator to join our team and work at our award-winning facility in Washdyke. This is a varied role, with a mix of planned and reactive tasks - no two days are the same!

Your challenge will be the operation of the wastewater treatment facility, sewer, and pumping stations. You’ll be involved in everything from carrying out preventative maintenance programmes, to ensuring the day-to-day operations of the plant runs smoothly.

We need a team player with high energy who enjoys variety; working around our district, both inside and outdoors.

Ideally, you will have a mechanical aptitude coupled with knowledge of pumps. It is also essential that you hold a current full driver's license. There is also the opportunity for vital training in aspects of safety and waste treatment processes.

Once you learn the ropes of the role, you will join the 24 hour immediate response service. This offers flexibility and rostered days off to ensure a fantastic work-life balance. The annual salary for this role is $57,800 to $68,000 per annum, plus on-call allowances.
