The Organisation
The Timaru District Council aims to enable democratic local decision-making and action by, and on behalf of communities, to promote the social, economic, environmental, and cultural well-being of its communities in the present and for the future. With around 400 staff, there are a diverse range of roles from front facing community to support and technical specialists.
The Role / Person
Demands on the Timaru District’s critical roading infrastructure is becoming increasingly challenging and improving our 1,700km road network is a significant priority for Timaru District Council!
As an Engineer experienced in road maintenance operations and renewals you will lead a team of professionals that will manage our road network assets. This critical role will focus on ensuring that road network maintenance and renewal works are programmed and delivered in a timely and cost effective manner.
Our Road Network Team Leader will foster a culture of high performance and lead the delivery of amazing service. Great leadership and an effective communicator to lead our Land Transport team to succeed in successful delivery is what we’re after.
By way of background, you will have experience in the land transport function, leading road maintenance and construction. Bonus points if you hold a recognised tertiary qualification in engineering with over 5 years’ experience in a position of management.
This is a tier 4 leadership position reporting directly to the Land Transport Manager. We’re seeking someone knowledgeable in road maintenance that will promote innovative road construction and management techniques.
